What is the story of the Newborn and Portrait Summit’s first edition?
Well, the summit was born from a deep passion for photography and a strong desire to cultivate a community that prioritizes friendship, professionalism, and high-quality education.
The journey towards organizing this event was far from simple. From choosing the right location to inviting the speakers and prop suppliers, we encountered numerous challenges and went through each stage with emotions.
However, the lack of experience made the experience even more beautiful and turned it into a memory that will forever be treasured by all the participants.
When and where?
The Newborn and Portrait Summit took place on April 20 at the Novotel Hotel, located in the heart of Bucharest. The event brought together a large number of photographers specializing in Newborn, Maternity, Family, and Portrait photography.
We chose the Novotel Hotel for its elegant and cozy ambiance, which provided the perfect setting for our gathering. Thanks to the hotel staff’s professionalism and attention to detail, the conference ran smoothly and everyone enjoyed themselves.
What did we learn?
The Newborn and Portrait Summit was an enriching day filled with insightful lessons, helpful advice, new concepts and friends, and many emotions.
From maternity and newborn photography to family photography and personal branding, all the speakers shared their expertise and personal stories, which were both inspiring and informative.
The summit began with Andra Cristea, a talented maternity photographer from Bucharest. Andra told us how important is to create a unique experience during a photo session, especially for expectant mothers. Helping them reconnect with their true selves can make a huge difference in their confidence and how they view their own femininity and beauty.
Raluca Bădescu talked about self-reflection through personal branding photography and focused on how personal branding photography can reveal individuals’ personalities and emotions while building and communicating their brand story.
Ancuța Cabău talked about the importance of capturing emotions in family photography and gave us some valuable tips on how to obtain natural and authentic images that reflect the essence of each family.
Augustin Camino, a newborn, baby, child, maternity, and family photographer from Spain, shared some very insightful info about beanbag and prop posing, and kept the attendees laughing.
Lastly, Małgorzata Sulewska-Czarnecka, a photographer from Poland with a passion for portrait, maternity, and newborn photography, as well as painting, shared her knowledge and experience on how to use colors to create outstanding fine art portraits and push our creative boundaries.
We were deeply inspired by each presentation and grateful for the opportunity to learn from such talented professionals.
The Newborn and Portrait Summit photo prop fair
At the Newborn and Portrait Summit, we had the pleasure of attending a photo prop fair featuring some of the most talented and skilled suppliers in the field.
With a heart full of passion and a keen eye for the little things that matter most, the vendors impressed us with their amazing creations, giving attendees the chance to see and purchase their favorite products.
Moreover, the suppliers prepared a raffle and offered many prizes to conference attendees. It was a heartwarming moment filled with so much joy and gratitude, and we thank them again for their generosity.
How did the Newborn and Portrait Summit 2023 end?
As the event came to a close, we answered attendees’ questions and asked for their feedback. Fortunately, they offered a wealth of helpful tips and suggestions, which we took to heart as we strive to improve our next edition. Eventually, we took a group photo, ensuring that the event will live on in our memories for years to come.
The following day was no less exciting, as we enjoyed a fantastic photography workshop conducted by the talented Małgorzata Sulewska-Czarnecka. Her insights and expertise are invaluable, and we are thrilled that she joined our summit.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the contributions of our speakers, participants, venue, prop suppliers, sponsors, and friends. Their generosity and dedication were crucial in making the event successful, and we are endlessly grateful for everybody’s involvement.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the next edition of the Newborn and Portrait Summit, which is scheduled for April 18, 2024.
