Newborn photography is a growing art form, offering endless opportunities for creative expression. However, mastering this craft takes dedication, expertise, and hands-on experience.
Whether you’re just starting out or are an intermediate/advanced photographer, this personalized 1:1 mentoring session is tailored to inspire creativity, build confidence, and elevate your skills in newborn photography.

This one-on-one session is fully customizable to your needs, ensuring a practical and enlightening experience. Together, we’ll focus on the areas you want to improve, from technical skills like camera settings and lighting to artistic techniques like posing and editing.
What Will You Learn?
- Preparation: Photo session setup, prop selection, and parent guidance.
- Technical Skills: Camera settings, lighting, workflow, and transitioning between setups.
- Posing: Beanbag, prop, and family posing, including achieving multiple looks from a single setup.
- Specialized Techniques: Wrapping, macro shots, and newborn safety.
- Challenging Scenarios: Tips for managing newborns who resist sleeping or experience colic.
- Portfolio Review: A detailed analysis of your work to identify strengths and opportunities for growth.
- Post-Processing: Efficient editing methods using provided tools and presets.
Editing & Post-Processing
We’ll conclude with editing, where I’ll demonstrate my post-processing workflow and work on two of your images. You’ll receive:
- A recorded video of the editing process.
- My personal Photoshop Actions and presets.
- The images captured during the session to use in your portfolio.
Schedule
- 10:00 AM: Introduction, session preparation, and camera settings.
- 10:30 AM: First newborn model.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch break.
- 1:30 PM: Second newborn model.
- 4:00 PM: Hands-on practice with StandInBaby posing doll and portfolio analysis
- 5:30 PM: Post-processing session.
- 6:30 PM: Farewell and follow-up planning.
Equipment Needed
- DSLR or Mirrorless camera (manual operation).
- Prime lens: 50mm, 35mm, or 24-70mm.
- Macro lens (optional).
- Laptop or notebook/iPad for notes.

Your learning journey doesn’t stop after the session. I’ll be available to answer questions, provide advice, and support your progress as you continue to develop your skills.
